Two ways to show your work on your profile

Terasor

When someone lands on your profile they are deciding whether to trust you with a job before they have spoken to you. Everything else on the page is a claim they have to take on faith. The portfolio is the only part they can check for themselves.

Until today it was also the hardest part to find, sitting near the bottom of the account settings page below payment setup, notifications and half a dozen other blocks. It now has its own tab in the dashboard, called Portfolio.

There are two ways to fill it.

The first is to upload. Photos, or video files, hosted by us and played on your profile.

The second is new. If your showreel is already on YouTube or Vimeo, paste the address and it appears on your profile without a second upload. The video stays where it is, so views still count on your own channel. Your profile page does not contact YouTube or Vimeo at all until a visitor presses play, so the page stays quick for everyone who never does.

A few things worth knowing about linked video. The channel name shows beside the video, so anyone looking can see whose work it is. You confirm the video is yours to show when you add it. And it needs to be a public video for now, not an unlisted one, because unlisted links carry an extra code that we do not store yet.

Three videos in total, whether uploaded, linked, or a mix of both.

If your portfolio is empty you will see a prompt on your dashboard next time you sign in. It disappears the moment you add anything.
